Re: Probate information/trainingIn Reply to: Probate information/training posted by Rick, the Probate Guy on May 05, 2008 at 7:40 PM : I really can't recommend any of the would be "guru's" who want you to spend serious money on their training as I've taken most all of their seminars, returned to teach them, and mostly left with the feeling that the teachers are in the info business, not doing deals. : I'm trying not to rant here, however there's some pretty weak material out there in Probate-land. It just doesn't prepare you to go out, find and work deals. : Gary D'Grazia has a little course called Probate Diamond Farming, which isn't bad at all. It's best suited to someone who is a licensed agent/broker and wishes to list deals that you can't buy from the estate low enough to make a good profit. I consider Gary a friend and he will tell you that he likes them (deals) "mild" and I like them "wild." He's a sincere guy and someone that you could do business with, too (he's in the East S.F. Bay area). : I don't want to make any promises about my course project because I have no idea when I'll finish it, but I'm big on "more ways and plays" to work deals. : In the meantime, you can take what another poster recently provided about how Ward became self-trained in the foreclosure business, and substitute in the word "probate." Since there wasn't any formal training that I could find, I just took every class that probate attorneys took, asked title people lots of questions, and hung around people who knew more than me (which was everyone in the legal community). Rick, Thanks so much for your response. I definitely would like to purchase your course when it is available. Also do you do any one on one training by chance? You seem to totally understand the ins and outs of probate and that is whom I would like to learn from. I have been to so many seminars where I left feeling as if the guru was more interested in sellling seminars and coaching than they were actually in doing deals and staying on the cutting edge. I actaully found your website and the home page was in Italian, thought that was humorous. I am serious about learning probate Rick to coincide with my short sale business. My short sale business is now automated and i am working on the business not in the business, that is why I would like to incorporate probate. Rick thanks for your postings, I AlWAYS read both yours and Wards. Great website Ward!
