I think it's a long shot.In Reply to: Buying IRS ROR posted by brian on June 25, 2002 at 10:10 AM : Hi Ward, : I attended an auction this morning and watched a guy buy a home with an IRS lien on in for 8K. The house sold for 150 and is worth 190. I asked if he knew about the lien- he did. : My question is can I buy the redemption rights at a discount, reimburse the investor and obtain title? If so, do I have to have another auction? Is this worth persuing? : Thanks Brian, I doubt the IRS will sell you their redemption rights. But I've never actually inquired about such a deal with them. So I'd call up the revenue agent involved and ask him/her directly.
