Rosemarie,

You live in a state with some of the strangest foreclosure laws.

The lender can easily foreclose... and you can easily stall the
process, depending on the type of foreclosure action taken and
your desired outcome. However, the lender can quickly get title
to the property without a foreclosure sale and you can be
removed from your property quickly too.

Get up to speed by looking at your loan/mortgage documents and
using the web to look up CT state statutes. You can also consult
with a real estate professional familiar with the laws in CT, and
then there are always attorneys.

CT allows borrowers certain protections while being unemployed
or underemployed... but you'll have to check the laws for
specifics.

You might consider a short sale if time allows.

And yes, depending on still more variables, the lender may be
able to sue you for the balance not brought at sale... but again,
please check the type of foreclosure the lender is pursuing and
all the laws associated with it.
