Re: Trustee sale postponements due to bankruptcyIn Reply to: Trustee sale postponements due to bankruptcy posted by Larry Van Valkenburgh on December 14, 2001 at 11:53 AM : Here in CA alot of trustee sales are repeatedly postponed when the trustor enters and remains in bankruptcy, sometimes for months. As I understand it, the bankruptcy court will frequently work with the foreclosing lender in an attempt to "work-out" the debtors problems. The happy ending for the trustor is getting the trustee sale cancelled. : I am interested in the other outcome, i.e. when the work-out fails and the trustee sale finally goes forward. Does anyone know how to find out when that is about to happen? It seems the trustee and the lender don't know until the day of the sale, although I'm not convinced that someone inside the lender doesn't have more warning than that. : Also, since bankruptcy is a federal proceeding, it is completely independent of the trustee sale. Does anyone know if it's possible to speak with someone there about the prognosis on an individual's bankruptcy petition? Have a look at the LINKS page in this website for PACER (Public Access to Court Electronic Records). Once you're signed up, you can examine the complete docket of a BK case. You'd think your right in the courtroom with them. The information doesn't get any more inside than this. Even better it costs pennies to use. Follow Ups: Post a Followup:
