Re: Get title insurance when you're in a transaction affecting title. In Reply to: Help finding a Title Co. in CA posted by Eric - CA on September 09, 2001 at 10:19 AM : I have called several title companies and none of them want to insure foreclosed titles. Am I describing how/what I am buying to them incorrectly or are there just very few that will actually do this? They all talk about the extra research they have to do, make sure notices are sent properly, etc. and that their legal departments don't want them to do it. : Can someone please give me suggestions on who/how to get title insurance for a property bought at a foreclosure auction in California. =•=•=•=•=•=•=•=•=•=•=•=•= Eric, title companies don’t seem to have a problem insuring title when a resale or refinance is involved. And you don’t need to get the title insured in between you getting a trustee’s deed and later on giving someone else a deed or trust deed. It’s never been a problem for me.
