I have listed 6 books, some of which are particular to CA., but perhaps they can serve as models for folks elsewhere, to search for their own home grown versions:
“Landlording” by Leigh Robinson ISBN: 0-932956-16-5 “Smart Trust Deed Investing in California” by Georage Coats ISBN: 0-934581010 “Syndicating Single Family Homes” by Claire R. Fox ISBN: 0-9601530-6-3 “How To Avoid Probate” by Norman F. Dacey ISBN: 0-02-008181-2 “Mortgage & Deed of Trust Practice” by Roger Bernhardt ISBN: 0-88124-177-6
Hopefully, we will have completed that project here on our web site (See 50 State Foreclosure Basics) in a year. Right now we just have the foreclosure codes of CA and WA available. But we will pick up the pace and try to add a different state's codes each week until they're all available in the next 50 weeks.
