: If a property is held in a title holding trust, would you file tax returns for that property under your ssn#? Can an attorney for the opposition eventually find out that you have a beneficial or ownership interest in that property held in the trust? Would they (the opposition) subpeona tax returns?

Haywood, you can elect to either file a separate tax return for the trust, and if so, it would need its own Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN). On the other hand, if you owned the entire beneficial interest in the trust you could elect to report all gains and losses on your own tax return.

Attorneys can’t supoena your tax returns in a civil suit
