Just go and observe and you'll quickly know what's happening..In Reply to: How can you predict how much will be bid @ auction posted by Laura on June 27, 2002 at 11:50 AM : Let's say a house is worth 100K in a "normal" market (not hot either way) : In a normal auction, what is the usual percentage that it would go for. 70% ??? Is there some formula that investors use? Do investors shy away from houses where chances of redemption are very high? : I realize that the 1st is going to bid its amount, but let's say the 1st is only 50K. That leaves 50K in equity. : Thanks in advance. I really need to have some idea. =•=•=•=•=•=•=•=•=•=•= Laura, in a neutral real esatate market where neither the buyers nor sellers predominate you’d probably find a lot fewer bidders at the foreclosure auctions, and those would most likely be pro’s. So if there’s a reasonable chance of getting a decent deal the pro’s aren’t going to needlessly push the bidding to an extreme. So I’d expect to get a deal at about 70%. fairly frequently.
