Researching a past foreclosure sale.In Reply to: past foreclosure posted by TERRY on June 02, 2002 at 8:21 PM : HOW WOULD I RESEARCH A PAST FORECLOSURE THAT HAPPENED @ 4-5 YEARS AGO. : : REGARDS =================== Terry, You do your research on whatever happened to the title of property down at the local county recorder's office. In the instance of a foreclosure of a trust deed you'd go back 4 years in the record, looking for a Notice of Default (NOD) in the name of the defaulting trustor. Then you'd come forward and find the Notice of Trustee's Sale (NOTS) and finally the Trustee's Deed itself. All three recorded documents would be found looking in the recorder's records under the name of the defaulting property owner. The Trustee's Deed will be the most illuminating document for it will tell what the opening bid was, what the final bid was, the actual sale date and time, etc. Hope this helps. P.S. Shhh, ALL CAPS is the same as shouting. Follow Ups: Post a Followup:
