: After I acquire a home at a Trustee Sale but before I subsequently resell it I think I need insurance protection against fire, vandalism, casualty, etc. The equivalent of a homeowners policy. But when I checked with my insurance agent he said he didn't write that kind of policy. He referred me to a commercial underwriter but that wasn't his area either.

: I think I need this kind of insurance for the relatively brief period we're holding the property. Does anyone have any suggestions about who writes this kind of policy?

Larry,

You’re right, you need to get an insurance binder to protect your property the minute you buy it at the trustee’s sale. So I have that arrangement with my insurance agent, Tracy Webster with Farmer’s Ins. Agency here in San Diego (619) 583-0130.
