Don't ever get tagged as a Foreclosure Consultant in CA.In Reply to: violation of civil code section 2945-2945.11 posted by Kevin-Ca on April 26, 2002 at 8:47 AM : I have heard that knocking on doors and approaching a distressed homeowner at the Notice of Default is a good way to obtain a forclosure. How can you approach a homeowner at the notice of default and not be in violation of civil code 2945-2945.11 acting as a "forclosure consultant." =•=•=•=•=•=•=•=•=•=•= Kevin, In this particular, over-heated real estate market the most effective foreclosure market seems to be knocking on doors before the trustee’s sale. Especially for those folks with just a smidgen of determination and persistence. The way to successfully avoid violation of Section 2945 is to not accept any money for providing any service to the owner-in-foreclosure. So don’t charge to find a loan, or to stop the foreclosure, etc. Whatever service you render—don’t charge for it period. Just factor it into the overall aspect of buying the property from the homeowner. Hope this helps. Follow Ups: Post a Followup:
