Searching for local foreclosures in TN.In Reply to: Searching for foreclosures posted by Bill-Nashville on March 17, 2002 at 5:23 PM : Who would I see at my local courthouse to get a list of current foreclosures in my area?Whould this be different than the list that is published in the legal notices of the paper?Any advice would be helpful.Bill =•=•=•=•=•=•=•=•=•=•=•= Bill, you’re state of TN is a non-judicial trustee state. Therefore your foreclosures go through a Notice of Default (NOD) and Notice of Trustee’s sale (NOTS) procedure. The two notices are recorded in your local, county recorder’s office. Generally there’s a local foreclosure notice service that you can subscribe to that will find the NOD’s and NOTS for you and send you the info on a daily or weekly basis. If it’s available then you’d probably want to subscribe since it will save you hours of research time down at the recorder’s office. The notices (NOTS) that are advertised in the local paper usually appear close to the auction sale of a foreclosure property. So if you want to know of all foreclosures a lot earlier then you’d want to follow the NOD’s. Hope this helps. Follow Ups: Post a Followup:
