: I need some help determining what has actually happened. The contractor for my home demanded interim funding prior to starting the work. I worked with him and the broker he referred me to and got the interim loan. The contractor never completed the work as agreed upon and I never received keys to my new home. The interim lender foreclosed on the property and the papers were filed. I called the county clerk and found that the interim lender purchased the home for more than the original loan. What happened here and what happens to the extra funds? This is in Texas and I don't fully understand the laws but the attorneys I've had have drained me of money and I have nothing left except my car and my daughter. I'm tired of dealing with this as I am not finding any help. I am glad that my parents are allowing us to stay with them. I lost my property and the new home as well as my credit rating.

: Thanks for any assistance and direction.

Katie, if you are tired of this deal and have no funds and your parents are willing to help you, I'd take their help.
