Also, it isn't too hard to count the number of Trustee's Deeds that recorded in San Diego county every month (averaged approx. 69 per month for 2001). Question is — out of that monthly average of 69, how many went to outside bidders? I'd guess no more than 10 percent. Now let's look at the average number of Notices of Default that recorded in San Diego County every month (averaged approx. 477 per month for 2001). So I suspect there's more buying/lending foreclosure activity going on with owners in default than at the foreclosure auctions. But what others might or might not be doing isn't as important as what foreclosure area is working best for you. And that can only be answered by trying each venue out for a good solid month and making a comparison afterward. So, up up into the hustings my friend. Give it a try and then let us know for sure what's going on.
