: I have just received a notice of default. I am behind four months in my payments. When I contacted GMAC Mortgage, and asked if I could send 1/2 of the past due amount, they said it had to be paid in full. How much time do I have to try to get the money together?

Jodie, go to the link below and find the length of your state's foreclosure process. Most states give the defaulting owner the right to reinstates their loan delinquency all the way up to the foreclosure sale.

But just make sure and call the trustee on the notice of default and ask the last date you have to reinstate your loan.
