It depends on what is customary for the area. I've never taken a property back that was subject to a land lease. Happy to say that I usually do my homework BEFORE I dive in.

That's the downside of buying at t-sales. When you're in a hurry, feel pressured to bid and uncertain of title or rush through it. It's just not always practical while in the crunch. Hopefully, you won't have any real economic adverse effects of your purchase. Either way, you will learn something valuable to know inthe future.

Old Chinese saying: Marry in haste...repent in leisure.

Too bad that I didn't...
