[ Follow Ups ] [ Post Followup ] [ The Forum Board ] [ FAQ ] Securing property that might be occupied Posted by New on July 29, 2010 at 8:16 AM I recently purchased a property at a trustee sale and posted a 3 day notice on the door. Several days later I recieved no reply and the notices are still taped to the door. The prev owners mother in law called and said that the prev owner is not there anymore. Normally if I can see the property is empty I will just change the locks. However in this case all the drapes are closed and the bathroom window is half open. There are also some tools located in the water heater closet. I am not sure what to do, I assume it would be bad if I started changing the lock if there is a squattor or tenant inside the property. Will the police meet me there if I ask them for this service? Based on my past experiences, I am guessing not..
