(nt) posted by JK (the other JK) on June 01, 2010 at 9:19 PM hi jk, our govt and society is getting so permissive and socialistic, which is why people get away with all this kind of crap. we are spiraling towards that land of not taking responsibility for our actions. we get out of paying our debts with bankruptcy procedures, etc. etc. i have several friends who are school teachers, and they all tell me the same thing. they talk to parents of their students, and these parents give dumbfounded looks when the teacher asks them about "consequences". many kids simply are no longer taught that there are consequences to their actions. and unlike the olden days when i went to school - the parent always sticks up for his child, like he is some sort of angel.
