[ Follow Ups ] [ Post Followup ] [ The Forum Board ] [ FAQ ] Moved out but no check yet for Cash for Keys Posted by BB on May 25, 2010 at 6:27 PM OneWest Bank offered cash for keys of $4K with a 5/14 move out date. We countered with $5K and 5/18 move out that was accepted. We signed the agreement, emailed it back to realtor handling the transaction, moved out and had the place clean and ready for inspection at 3:00 pm on 5/18 as agreed upon. At 2:00 pm realtor told us check has not arrived and rescheduled inspection for 5/19. It's now 5/25 and we were told that OneWest screwed it up and is sending another check today. Was also told only recourse is that we are "entitled" to the place until we sign the release. I incurred expenses (rented u-haul truck to haul every piece of trash to the dump and paid dump fee, hired people, rented storage fees, etc.) to make sure that I meet the 5/18 3:00 pm deadline. Being entitled to the house does not do me any good, I can't even pee in there because I had the utilities turned off already. Do I have any recourse in this situation or do I just grin and bear it?
