Re: Foreclosure RadarIn Reply to: Foreclosure Radar posted by JDM on May 19, 2010 at 8:29 PM : Just a thought or two...While waiting for the bidding to begin Today at the San Diego courthouse, I was contemplating how interesting things could be if Foreclosure Radar went out of business. Perhaps we would see who the real investors are...BTW, mistakes are now being made week in and week out with some of the purchases being made, even from the deep pocket Orange County folks. I believe some people have gotten drunk on their successes of the preceeding 9 months and will soon learn that they better exercise a bit more caution - or perhaps not. Good luck to all in the trenches No chance we are going out of business, but if we did competition would only drop for a moment. We we're lucky to be in the right place at the right time, and we gained market share by providing better software at better prices. But as much as I might like to claim otherwise, we aren't the reason competition on the steps has exploded. The reality is that there were a lot of folks (think builders/contractors, commercial real estate brokers/developers, mortgage bankers) whose business disappeared overnight and who were forced to find new careers or starve. Many still had access to capital, and most were aware of the foreclosure auctions. A vacuum is always filled. I definitely feel fortunate that we've benefited from the explosion in auction investing. But it would be ridiculous to take credit for it. And even more ridiculous to think folks would stop showing up if we disappeared. Finally, I do agree with you that there are a lot of folks who have been playing fast and loose, and have been getting lucky thanks to the fact that most foreclosures happen to be firsts these days, and many have been built recently. I also agree that many will find out the hard way that there are risks to buying at auction. If you've ever heard me speak, watched my youtube video on auction bidding, or read anything I've written you'll find I work hard not to diminish those risks. Finally, while we don't do trainings ourselves, we never hesitate to recommend that newbies do seek training and I've recommended Ward many times. Best Regards, Follow Ups: Post a Followup:
