Re: 1st visit for Equity Purchase in IEIn Reply to: Re: 1st visit for Equity Purchase in IE posted by Doug on May 12, 2010 at 10:30 AM By "On the cheap" I meant that you are merely using freebie forms. I started working foreclosure equity purchases in 1978. And yes, I've met many people at the door. I stopped meeting prospects in 1996 as I figured that it was no longer a necessary part of my business model and I wanted to focus on paper investing and other pursuits. Sounds to me like you heard Ward speak recently and are fired up. That's great. Let us know about some of your door-knocking experiences after maybe 50 - 100 properties: How many people answered door? How many principals did you talk to? Typical conversation was...? How many invited you into their homes to discuss their situation? How many did you sign out of X doors? How many did you close and make a profit on? Any calamities along the way? Results vs. expectations? Depending on the neighborhood, you may not find anyone around until after 11:00 AM, and then (again, depending on the area) you make want to 'keep moving.' There is no substitute for real, in-the-trenches experience. So, keep good notes as to what works for you. It may not be the same as what you heard.
