Let's get back on topic...In Reply to: Re: Calif is circling the bowl... posted by Jack Brichards on March 14, 2010 at 8:39 PM I happen to agree with you, Jack. This forum may be open and free however I personally get tired of seeing people who mis-use it as a forum to promote their opinions on such topics as 'what's wrong with the government.' Yeah, the cost of cyber space may be cheap, however the cost includes, among other things, the chatter of the distractive noise. Yes, we all have opinions, but the more off-topic we get here. the less germane and relavent this forum becomes. IMO, this not a place to get all tied up over differences between personalities, but rather a forum of real estate investors, new, future, or experienced, sharing their ideas and experiences in solving problems related to the business of distressed property investing. It's true, not everyone has a similar vision of this board, which is perhaps why some try to misuse it to advertise, or get free legal advise, or help them out of a financial pickle, however I believe that most people who are active, regular visitors/posters want to learn something that will help them do a better job (and likely make more money). Those long time forum participants have alsp witnessed what happens when this become a forum for anyone who wants to over-promote their own agenda or get caught up in name calling. In such cases, no one wins, and the relevant posts decline while people find other places and things to do. So, I say: Free it might be, but be respectful of our host (Ward) and mindful of the consequences of using this forum for rants without solutions. Rant over.
