If you want a property being auctioned in Pomona and you have to be in Norwalk for another property, it could be worth it. I'm sure CRR would only bid in small increments, not the maximum bid. You can't sucker someone to overbid, as you risk owning the property yourself if the person you're trying to "sucker" reaches their max bid. I'm sure CRR will keep each person's bid private, as they would have to do as a fiduciary.
