Caveat Emptor -- "Let the buyer beware"

: Do loan modification companies really give back your payment if they can't get you a workable mod or short sale. I'm thinking about going with First Foreclosure Prevention but I would like to know if anyone has any experience.

Hard to get a refund if the company has gone out of business. I wouldn't hire anybody based upon a promise of a refund. Check out the companies credentials and do your due diligence. Here's a MAJOR red flag regarding the company you just mentioned: Check out their "ABOUT US" page. They don't mention one persons name -- not the CEO, the attorney, the VP, the CFO -- no one. I can't even figure out their address or how long they've been in business.
