Re: I'm still getting comps and property reports. In Reply to: I'm still getting comps and property reports. posted by JK (the other JK) on July 03, 2009 at 1:00 AM I don't think anyone has been cut off from a property profile, but it's certainly more than First American who's limiting the profiles. Chicago and Fidelity have taken away everything on their online services that has to do with comps and images. And the profile can only contain tax assessor information, which means no document/transfer history on the parcel. If you go to your online title service or call customer service and pull a new profile today, are you saying you are getting recent comps? : : Buy your information from a data provider. : I understand that First American and now Landwood Title recently stopped providing the information. But are they the only Title companies that exist? I do not pretend to guarantee that all title companies will not follow suit. I'm stating that as of today July 2, 2009 I'm still getting the info. Furthermore, I've read the new law several times and I still don't see specific verbiage precluding a Title company from providing the aforementioned information. : That being said, so what if they do take away all the information? This will only benefit investors that know how to research title themselves, pull comps from the MLS and/or are willing to spend a few bucks with Dataquick.
