Why would I want to "flame" anyone here?

Larry -

Congratulations on your 25 years as a member of the Bar. I'm sure it took a lot of work and sacrafice to achieve that goal.

I'm not sure what seems to be causing you the concern about my comment. While I started in this business long before you were admitted to the Bar, I can appreciate that you value attorney posts more than non-attorneys. That's your privilege.

It's not my intention to get into a debate with you about who has more experience or knowledge, etc. My experience has been sufficient to provide me do my business, help other people with theirs, and live a lifestyle that's clearly beyond anything that I ever believed possible.

When I need specific expertise, I hire it. It's really very inexpensive. Take attorneys, for instance. At any given time, I probably have 5 or 6, perhaps more, working on the clock for me. Why? Because it's a better use of my time and money. At $250-400 and hour, it's a much better value to delegate tasks to legal experts.

I don't pretend for one minute to have the last word on probates; it's merely the arena that I invest in primarily. Most of my income is the direct or indirect result of resolving messes that attorneys bring me. Sometimes I have to hire other attorneys, in turn, to complete the ultimate project or transaction. It's still inexpensive. Also, if I wasn't the major recipient of the financial benefits, I wouldn't continue doing what I do.

You can take the best and leave the rest of the board of this or any other forums. You really don't have to read my posts if they don't appeal to you. Maybe you're just having an "off" day.

However, bringing something to your attention as a reminder (such as "wiped off, not out" isn't intended to be condescending. In fact, I'm only reiterating Ward's Mantra.

Since you hint that you don't value any other comments from non-attorneys here, you'll probably miss a lot of gems that only people who work in the trenches would understand. People who are doing deals. Maybe your caseload limits your ability to work deals as a principal or perhaps you're a full time invester without any interest in having a practice. Either way, none of my business.

But, just out of curiosity, what exactly does this site offer you (as an experienced attorney, of course)?
