Cheap insurance or expensive lessons...In Reply to: Re: Trustee's sale, please help posted by Daniel Nguyen on June 20, 2009 at 4:11 PM It doesn't sound like you are either an experienced real estate agent/licensee or anywhere near prepared to risk real money on bidding at an auction. Why don't you study the topic in-depth rather than just guessing at it or trying to get free answers on this or other boards. For starters, at least you can buy the foreclosure book from FirstTuesday's website. This will get you a little more comfortable with the process. For the ins-and-outs, you can't beat the training you'd get from taking Ward's three day seminar. Even if you're only going to buy one property with the new-found knowledge, and it's to be your residence, the money would be well spent. Do you understand that you need to take cash or cashier's check to the auction in order to bid and financing your purchase isn't an option? That means you're risking cash; your's or maybe someone else's. While I don't use their filters, I do like their old ad slogan from Fram: "Pay me now or pay me later." Will we see you at the courthouse steps this week anyway?
