I agree with JK, I don't think Bill Gatten is a crook. I think he just doesn't want a one time sale/income situation. I have never seen his paperwork.

My brother and I developed a trust long before Bill Gatten that is probably very similar (hmmm, wonder if he found a copy) that we used for a specific type of investing we called "skinny investing".

For most deals we wouldn't bother with this type of Trust but at the right time and place it's a great tool and you don't need Bill Gatten and his NARS or whatever it is, you can do your own.

As for his PAC trust I never looked at it either, but I'm sure his patent ran out a long time ago, and is available for review and use as a base document if you want to create one.
