What happened to me is I rented from a "Distressed Homeowner" for 3 years, couple kids in highschool, garden planted, personally upgraded the landscaping, very comfortable and then BAM!, the "Distressed Homeowner/Landlord/RENT COLLECTOR/THEIF" (collected close to $75,000 in rent monies) sends me a 30 days to move letter with all the legal jargon. He was collecting the rent and not paying the bank... this is a very nice, "honest" guy, I liked him, I trusted him. I have kids! but, oh, that's right he's ONLY A DISTRESSED HOME OWNER! what a crock! He had planned ahead... He refi'd pulled out not only his DOWN PAYMENT OF $100,000, but a ATM CONVENIENT PAPER ONLY EQUITY WHICH HE NEVER EARNED IT LOAN for $175,000. So now he made $75,000 plus the Rent Money. Not a bad business? or is it? Of course it is and that is what 95% of the Buyers/Borrowers/Investors/Speculators/Distressed Homeowners/Theives did. The proof is in the pudding. Our economy is dying a very real death and its not over until it is over. : : Hey Dawn, Just remember the old saying, "What comes around, goes around!" All of you who think all homeowners are scums and have purchased homes by committing fraud, one of these days you might have a legitimate 'hardship' come your way.
