: : Just remember these rules of thumb;
: : If at the beginning of the seminar they hand you a form explaining how to increase your credit card lines be prepared later to be asked to max them out.
: : If they are showing 'testimonials' and the people are beside clear blue water (pools, tropical paradise) you are about to be sold a 'lifestyle' and your credit cards are about to be maxed out.
: : If there are pictures of expensive cars and even more expensive homes on a large screen in the front of the room you are about to be sold a dream and your credit cards are about to be maxed out.
: : If you ever hear the speaker say "Yes? or Yes!" or "get to the center isle and run to the back of the room" you are being straight SOLD and your credit cards are about to be maxed out.

: : Do the business, then seek specific training in areas you need to focus on.

: Aaron,
: You had my agreement up until your last line -- "Do the business, then seek specific training in areas you need to focus on." I hate to borrow Rick's analogy of a pilot, but how comfortable would you feel jumping on board of a plane if the pilot had decided to "do the flying and then seek specific training in the areas he needeed to focus on"? You need training, the problem is trying to separate the charlatans from the real deal. Visit one of the free pitch's from one of the guru's who have flown in from Florida and then visit Ward, Rick or Mike Cantu and I believe you will quickly pick up on difference.

I hate the word guru.Its overdone,missconstrued,and confusing.Even the best instructor does not know it all ,simply due to the ever changing face of the market.Like Mike Cantu says "its a different game every year" in my opinion ,that is a true statement.From what I have seen the good guys "with the white hats ,,not THE BLACK HATS ,they teach very rarely thru out the year.I reapeat ,the good guys ,the most knowledgable individuals with the best reputations teach but a few times a year.Why ?Because they're busy doing the business thru out the balance of the year.Also,the price for there materials is very reasonable,THEY GIVE MUCH MORE THAN ONE EXPECTS TO RECEIVE,,,

Concerning Florida;There maybe good and bad quality of instruction coming out of Florida,however,keeping that thought,some of the best instructors I have ever heard in my lifetime reside in Florida.That would include John Schaub,Jack Miller and Peter Fortunato,,,.These guys know what they're talking about,and believe me,theres no turquiose blue horizons,BMW's .or sun tanned beach babes on their overhead projectors,its all meat and no potatoes.Again do your own research and make your own decisions.Go slow.Slow.Slow.Slow.I love the internet.Research,,Go to lots of REI meetings,there are GREAT ONES OUT THERE,ask lots of questions,seek and you shall find.

Hope this helps
MonroviaDave
