FIRPTA Posted by Lughead on May 21, 2009 at 11:44 PM hello we just closed escrow selling a property held in a THT the buyer had an agent agent just sent a form "Seller's Affidavit of Non Foreign Status and/or California Withholding Exemption" This is a CAR form ... ive not seen it before ... and they are requesting what i consider to be private and secure information such as SSN/TIN ... it seems like a CYA for the buyer to protect them from Section 18662 of the California Franchise Tax Board Revenue and Taxation Code How have others addressed this form?
