RENTERS IN FORECLOSURE

Posted by jonas on May 11, 2009 at 10:05 PM

Hello, My situation is different than most renters in foreclosure. as I am renting a room from the homeowners. So a renter and the homeowner both live in the house. They are going into foreclosure. I have 2 questions

1)will the 60 day period to stay after the home has been auctioned apply to me? or it wont since i am only renting a room and not the full house, pluse the homeowners live here too?

2) The home was supposed to be auctioned back in december, everytime it is supposed to be auctioned, the homeowners call and request for it to be postponed, it than gets postponed for a month or so and than they do it again. How many times can they request the auction to be postponed? Also someone left a note on the door with all the auction info, i can go onto priority posting and see when the house will be auctioned, it says it will not be auctioned untile next month, yet the homeowners are telling me the house has been sold already.

I am in california in the inland empire.

1 more question, I am a student and cannot afford much rent. I was wondering if I would be able to rent a house for cheap while its on the market, if it sells I can move out. Basically I could provide house sitting services and cheap rent until the house sells?

thanks in advance
