Is your mortgage purchase/acquisition money? Or is for refinance? Big difference as mortgage deficiencies are only allowed for non purchase money in CA. How far along in the process are you? If the lender has filed a notice of default and the goes forward with trustee's sale, the sale is 100% non-judicial.....which doesn't allow for the lender to pursue a deficiency judgement (difference between what you owe and trustee's sale amount). Kristine

: I have a mortgage in California with Wamu- Chase. Would I be liable for the difference after the trustee sale if the house sells for less than I owe? Thank you. k
