Big difference as mortgage deficiencies are only allowed for non purchase money in CA. How far along in the process are you? If the lender has filed a notice of default and the goes forward with trustee's sale, the sale is 100% non-judicial.....which doesn't allow for the lender to pursue a deficiency judgement (difference between what you owe and trustee's sale amount). Kristine : I have a mortgage in California with Wamu- Chase. Would I be liable for the difference after the trustee sale if the house sells for less than I owe? Thank you. k
