No will - no spouse or kids so parents receive estate. But just found out an NOD was filed on 10/31/2008. What happens? Does the responsibility now fall on the shoulders of my aunt and uncle? And to make things more complicated, though we know that the deceased is listed as the defendant on the NOD, the property profile shows his younger brother as the owner per a quitclaim deed. Can you help clarify what happens next? This is all California - specifically San Diego county.
