My inclinaton...In Reply to: Priority of Water district assesment lien posted by Rick, the Probate Guy on April 09, 2009 at 10:31 AM Rick, I'd be inclined to pay such assessments and record the releases to clear the title to the land. Then I'd sue the agency in small claims court for reimbursement of what they extorted from you.
: I foreclosed on vacant parcel with several APN's back in 12/08 and received six (6) claims from law firm handling collection of water bills totalling over $2,500. : Trying to get a handle on my position. Actual water bills appear to have been about $600. First I heard of problem was getting nastygrams from law firm in NorCal. Also, I've never seen such bills assigned. : Anyone with experience and knowledge in this county have any input on dealing with this? Strategies, tactics, mitigation, theories on defective notice, etc.?
