There are no restrictions on buyers of short sales (they can't be the current owner, obviously). Investors buy short sales all day long. The restrictions come when borrowing money. Lenders have all kinds of policies these days that get in the way of a deal closing. If you're a cash buyer, no problem. If not, make sure your lender understands that you are buying as an investment and not as a personal residence. They'll then find the right loan product for you. Kristine

: Hi, folks:
: I'd like to buy a short-sale property as my rental property.
: Not sure there is a restriction by law on this or not ?

: Your advice is greatly appreciated !!
