Our Story

Posted by Alex - CA on April 03, 2009 at 7:16 AM

Our story

We got interested in RE after I was laid off as a software consultant in 2003. I was working in software industry since 1986.

Both me and my wife have been software consultants and she was laid off in 2004. We then started together full-time in RE.

The idea was to accumulate a number of properties to keep and some to flip.

We have raised good amount of cash from flipping and at some point had a great amount of equity in our properties (over 2M). We also bought a development project.

At this point almost all our equity disappeared and we find no way to make make living in RE. I am trying to find a job as a software consultant to no avail.

We still have a number of properties (unfortunately) with values way below market.

We feel very dejected.

We are trying to hang on. What should you recommend?

Thanks,

Alex.
