insurance claims

In washington as of the past year there is an insurance clearing house that insurers
post previous claims When I the new owner by foreclosure went to insure the house, my insurer said the previous owner had a claim for work done.
My insurer said they would likely be charging me for the amount claimed against the previos owner.

I don't know if the amount was below his deductable and he didn't pay or what.
I'm going to get more info next week.
