Priority stipulations on trust deeds or mortgages...

Mary,

If there's any kind of legend or indication on the face of either lien, that specifies which one is senior or junior, then you can trust that designation.

In your case you have such an indication on the later-recorded mortgage (that it is second in priority). As a consequence it will be wiped off the title of the property by the foreclosure of the first.
