i don't think there is a typical charge for mentoring. and i don't understand your question about mentors protecting their interests. if you are suggesting that a mentor brings a deal to the table for you to invest in and how does he protect his interest. better question is how do you protect your interests... usually all parties involved in the deal are on title.hope this helps
