: Sorry if this is repeat, I couldn't find the answer in archives. How can I approach the State Franchise Board about negotiating their lien down or releasing a portion of it?

: The property is overencumbered and in foreclosure anyway, the state probably won't get anything. I am talking to the second and hopefully the state, if they both give a little, we can buy it. Where do I go to talk to the state tax people? Doesn anyone know how long it might take?...we have a compelling case for them to discount....thank you, Kurtis

Look up the Franchise Tax Board in the pnone book, then call
and ask for someone who can discuss an "offer in compromise".

The taxpayer (homeowner) will have to initiate the call,
but you probably can participate in the phone conversation.
