In Reply to: will foreclosure affect my credit score? posted by Keith on April 20, 2008 at 11:18 PM

Keith,

A foreclosure is only charged against the credit record of the original borrow/trustor and not against any subsequent owner of the property.

Since you're not the original borrower on the 1st or 2nd, then a foreclosure of either of them won't have any negative impact on your credit record .

: If I take the Trustee's Deed at the sale of my 2nd
: and the 1st forecloses on me.. will that have any
: effect / record on my credit score?

: Or will the original borrower of the 1st be the one
: accountable?
