Just keep on truckin...In Reply to: using auction properties as comps posted by js on April 17, 2008 at 9:03 PM JS, A sale is a sale is a sale--regardless if the property sold at a public auction or through the Multiple Listing Service or just directly sold by the owner to the buyer. The fact that an auctioned property was used as a comp isn't off limits for any reason I'm aware. In my humble opinion, I don't think you're going to prevail against the appraiser.
