Re: How long will this downturn last?In Reply to: Re: How long will this downturn last? posted by JK (the other JK) on April 07, 2008 at 3:51 PM Alright the pro JK answered! I just leased option'd my home at today's price for three years. I think it was a smart move! : : I know everyone has an opinion on this... With the credit crunch and tightened lender guidelines how long before we pull out of a declining market? : : My guess is 3 Years... : : Ward??? : Last downturn was 6 years. I predict this one to be longer and stronger. I vote for 7 - 10 years. Here's the problem, banks are still planting the seeds today, for foreclosures tomorrow. FHA can now do practically zero down loans in L.A. county up to $729K. Wachovia and Downey Savings & Loans are still pushing and doing the ticking time bomb financial weapon of mass destruction Option Arm loan. The US government has opened the window for Banks and Wall Street Firms to offload their toxic paper. Jobs continue to be exported and our economy continues to run like a Subprime Borrower with unlimited credit cards.
