I am 5 months behind. I have a renter who has bad credit but wanting to buy the home with a cosigner. Talked to 1st lender that a shortsale might be possible. Loan was refi ARM and obtained 2nd mortgage after 6 months of 1st refi. owed close to 400k but now house is about 230k in value. 70k of the 400k is owed to 2nd mortgage. Can 2nd lender come after me for defiency or put a lien on my primary residence? I bought the primary home a year later after refinancing because my wife has cancer and we need to be closer to her parents to help take care of her during treatments. This property is in california.
