Re: Need Real Estate Attorney-San Diego-Pro Bono/ContingencyIn Reply to: Need Real Estate Attorney-San Diego-Pro Bono/Contingency posted by Elle on September 21, 2007 at 2:03 AM You don't say whether you're seeking an attorney to represent a plaintiff (you?) or defense nor anything about the matter. I think that you'll have a tough time finding a real estate attorney who will work for free. The other aspect of "free" that people often don't understand is that attorneys do have expenses above and beyond office staff, rent, utilities, etc. that are specific to a given file, such as court filing fees, research, investigators, etc. As for contingency work, it may be an uphill battle finding a real estate attorney worth his or her salt that will work on such a basis. If you are a defendant in a matter, you might try the San Diego County Bar Association Legal Referral Service, located at 7th & "A" Street downtown San Diego. While I haven't been there in years, I found them to be a very accommodating group. Whether or not they can help, they will at least take the time to listen to your matter and offer insight and perhaps some guidance, and maybe even more assistance.
