Re: Privacy via a title holding trust...In Reply to: Re: Privacy via a title holding trust... posted by hard money lender on October 23, 2006 at 9:01 PM hi ward, most of us dont have offices. would a po box work ? or is that just a clear signal to someone to search further ? also, i was wondering just what is checked during this title search. i dont want the bother of owning property, so it is unlikely that i would purchase real estate. even though the money may be great, i prefer peace of mind. LOL. so, about the only way that it is likely that i would get another property is foreclosing on a loan. when i get a loan, there is a trust deed recorded on the property. if it were to foreclose, there is a trustee statement that is recorded on the property. at what point, would i need to title it under my special trust ? does someone searching the data base look at trust deeds against the property ? do they look at trustee foreclosure document ? i definitely would not want to have someone besides myself as the trustee on the loan/trust deed. with regards to the title of your comment - i do help people with living trusts for themselves. i dont want to see the probate system steal from people. i also want to inform them of the option of keeping the assets in their trust after death, thereby protecting the assets from any possible creditors of a beneficiary. as you pointed out already on this site, people die, trusts dont. thanks again for all your insight. i dont know if i want to go thru all the hassle with my own home, but i probably will with my rental. i am an unlikely candidate to need to hide stuff, but one never knows for sure.
