: : I have read a lot about land trust and I want to set one up for a property I am buying right now.

: : I am familiar with how to set one up...I just want to know if there is anything I need to know in regards to setting one up in California.

: : Thanks

: Call you local and friendly title company. I prefer to do my bidness with Chicago Title and Trust. Make an appointment with any of the escrow officers, bring 'em Starbucks and ask them for all you need. They get paid a base plus commish. So, that makes 'em motivated to help the public.
: I would call in advance, and ask what type of drink she/he prefers (as some escrow officers may not even drink coffee...personally, I prefer Chai Tea).

Ward is correct on the lack of information on land trusts. I toiled in the probate/trust arena for 10 years and
had not heard of the concept until this board. Title companies employees are used to living trusts, not title holding
trusts, and in my experience are not interested in learning, either.
