Fruitless to recommend a friendly title company...In Reply to: Re: land trusts in CA posted by Martha Chiriboga on February 15, 2005 at 7:34 PM Martha, Unfortunately, it’s been my experience that it’s extremely rare for anyone working in any title company (whether they’re on the title or escrow side of the business) to be at all acquainted with the title holding trust. That’s especially surprising since it was Chicago Title who originally devised the title holding trust (then known as the Illinois Land Trust) back in 1891. Ask them anything about it today and they look at you with a blank, uncomprehending stare. For that matter, it’s just as rare to run into any atorney who’s at all familiar with the title holding trust. The only one I’ve ever met in these last 23 years was Phillip Mautino, now a juvenile court judge in the Downey area. Ward ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ : : Best Regards,
