In Calif, must the 1st accept cure & payments from the 2nd?

In Calif, if you are holding the 2nd position and the 1st forecloses, is the 1st required by law to allow you as the 2nd to cure their loan and continue making the payments to them? Or, can they refuse or decline you and just carry on with their foreclosure (thus, very possibly wiping you out)?
